Make it easier to find, join and favourite servers ASAP
I have a dedicated server that I'm not able to find. I think it may be hosted in Germany, and I'm in the UK. Others who are closer are able to find it. However this leaves me and other players stuck if they aren't online. I have already tried adding it to favourites in the Steam Server panel and joining that way but it says "not responding". It's definitely online and working.

DvoidFavorites in steam server-list seems to work fine. Adding a server using IP:2457 (if using the default ports)

JoeHave managed to connect for now via steam server list. As Dvoid says above, I had to change the port to 2457, not 2456 as originally given. Still a bit hit and miss, but better than nothing!

HelmarFavorit marker/tab in game would be highly appreciated.
And sometimes both options to fin server aren't working for some of our guys, what is frustrating for them. And it is different each day - sometimes a perfect walkthrough and the other day nothing to find (even if we're all located the same area/region) -

corsepervitaThis is definitely pretty buggy on this. Should not have to add to steam favorites to get it sometimes working. I've noticed sometimes when you do this it will very briefly show it as "up" and then "not responding" almost immediately. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it isn't.
I've found it's more successful to have someone who can see it, join the server, and then have someone join them from steam.
It's very hit and miss, regardless of the port added and server added to steam favorites.
While this is a workaround that is "okay" for now, it's definitely a pain point for those of us hosting dedicated servers.
I've tried it on another linux instance with the same exact symptoms, even turned the firewall off entirely on firewall-cmd and it does the same thing. Frustrating. -

Pope KaelI ran up a dedicated community server today and although I could find it, my friends couldn't. They had to go to their Steam friends list and join the server from there as the name of the server wouldn't populate in the community server list. The ability to connect via IP address would certainly help here.

CbrfromhellI’m having the same problem as corsepervita. I’ll have this on a dedicated host add it to steam servers. Sometimes it shows others it doesn’t. Sometimes friends can see the server under the community servers list in game 90 percent of the time they don’t. How dedicated is it if I have to be logged in 24/7 for friends to join through steam friends.
I spooled up my old rust server on my host just to check that I’m not loosing my mind. It worked as it should in the steam favorites list.
Double and triple checked all the Valheim and steam ports are open and they are, making me think this is a issue with the dedicated host and steam talking to each other maybe? -

Nikos TsoumasI have a (rented) dedicated server for me and my friends and we have to log in via steam servers etc. It would be great if we were able to see the server via the in-game server list and able to bookmark it somehow please

RobinYou can make a shortcut to valheim.exe with command line switches like this, to get a shortcut that connects to a dedicated server with IP and Port:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim\valheim.exe" +connect 123.123.123.123:2456 -

wakkytabbakythis has also been fixed with manual ip joining option now
-

Kasei*Partially fixed. Join via IP should be updated to support domain name as well.
Favoriting a server is also needed for people who play on multiple servers. -

Denis PoulinWell "fixed" might be an overstatement. I would like to see a "favorite server" tab with an option to save the server password. That would be pretty sweet.

oPyRuSoNees also a DNS support, i have a dedicated Server with dynamic IP
Also, since my IP was renew, the Server disapear from the list... :( -

GeorgeI can connect to our private server on ip:portnumber BUT it is a bit buggy because it does not seem to work at first, but after several attempts we can all join.
So keep on trying, you should be able to join in a minute. -

DreamWraithPlease also add the ability to do DNS resolution via IP join. It's much easier to memorize "valheim.domain.com" than "12.456.211.123"

SuperMeadBoy@wakkytabbaky Only if you have a static IP, with a dynamic IP or dynamic DNS it doesn't work.

NordmannAs mentioned Steam Client (Favorite) Servers entry is already working.
Pls also fix connecting to the same via https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Steam_browser_protocol:
steam://connect/<IP or DNS name>[:<port>][/<password>]
Server password handover to the game is not working yet at all. -

EarlI think a checkbox to save the last ip:port that you’ve entered on the connect to ip prompt would be a great 90% fix for now. I’d even volunteer a weekend day to implement it for you guys! (Although I’m not familiar with unity, as I understand it’s all C#/mono framework, so I’m very familiar with that via working on Xamerian apps)

GeorgeThis should be a no brainer. Connection to steam is fine, I guess, but there’s no reason you can’t save at least the IP if not the password.

KazgrelWould love to get an in-game favorites list or history of recently played servers so I don't have to copy/paste the ip + port from a pinned Discord message. Only way to achieve that is via Steam client currently, which is a bit cumbersome.

BuckAdd a history tab to the servers list, to show where you've played.
