Game is freezing, not responding
I walk around my house for a bit and it freezes up and the application stops responding.
i've tried:
reinstalling the game, moving it to a different SSD, restarting my PC
updating windows
fiddled around with the graphics
turned off MSI afterburner and other alternating applications.
i have also tried this one two characters and it appears to freeze on both. it also seems to only happen when i'm near me and my friends structures.
(my friend's game has frozen once while i've froze about 20 times)

I had played the game bug-free for 60 hours before this started to occur, nothing has changed in my PC and i haven't installed anything new.

JouxAfter testing for a while I might have figured out what the cause is, I had two workbenches close to eachother to cover the entire area of my house, I haven't experienced a crash for an hour after removing both of them. Currently I don't have any workbench put out.

JouxNevermind it froze again out of nowhere, it just comes and goes. Just going to uninstall till they fix this issue because it's not even logical how it freezes at random points. I removed all of my crafting benches and everything and it still stops responding.

ChrisI am having this issue as well. Only for me it happens when i enter the swamp biome and get near a sunken round structure. the moment anyone on our server gets right up to it we crash. the server is fine and keep going. this resets our characters progress back to the last time the game saved it so usually 20-30 mins behind.

JouxI'm posting my world/save files in here so you can test if you want to test it, I think it's 100% a world issue. Just put the files in your world folder in AppData.

DJWhat do your event logs say?
I'm getting the same issue as well. Played for 20 or so hours without issue then it started happening within 20 minutes every time I play for about 3 hours, then didn't happen again for 12 hours and now happens randomly at any time over the last 2 days. I notice you've both got Nvidia GPUs as do I (3080).
In eventlog has 2 errors (nvlddmkm) and one warning (display);
\Device\Video3
Graphics Exception: ESR 0x526730=0x260009 0x526734=0x0 0x526728=0xf812b60 0x52672c=0x1174
\Device\Video3
Graphics SM Warp Exception on (GPC 4, TPC 4, SM 0): Illegal Instruction Encoding
Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
Been trying too find possible causes for these errors and it’s usually a bad gpu (or Ram on the board) but can also be any number of other things but seeing as all other games I play don’t have this issue and this started right after a patch to the game it seems unlikely to be hardware. -

JouxI may have discovered the cause of my game freezing at least, I started a new save and played for a good long while before I encountered a freeze again, I noticed how I had been cutting down loads of trees and leaving the stumps left. I've now cleared a ton of stumps and the game haven't froze since.

BelthizeI suspect this is a client side network problem. I have a thread on the steam forums here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/892970/discussions/0/4939856028569039376/ with screenshots and other information showing the desync impacts and traffic rate.
It appears the client are *sending* data at 40KB/s or higher while receiving many 1s of KB/s. Normally the client only has to send key press type info so the transmit rate should be a fraction of the receive rate.
Unfortunately 40KB/s is very close to the transmit rate of DSL (15Mbit DSL typically has a 500-600kbit up limit). So some people are simply hitting a bandwidth limit at which point the queuing system kicks in and other clients grind to a halt till the slow link catches up. -

PaulMy game seems to freeze up quite frequently when the game is trying to save the world. Almost set my clock by it. Every ten minutes. If it doesnt freeze it just sort of hiccups at every ten minute mark.

StalI have the same freezing problem.
We are 3 players on a dedicated server and each time that we go in the black forest, the game is freezing and we have to leaves it. We have the freeze individually, I mean if one player is freezing, me or my friend are not. -

KaanI have the same problem after auto save. This problem started after the development of the new save system.

Diane Indamy game suddenly is weirdly laggy; everything goes at a slow halting "tick"; even while starting, any character even new ones. nothing has changed. Same computer, same internet, same everything; same trouble on friends dedicated server, same trouble using vulcan or not.
