Client password is being ignored from steam Launch Options

If you use the steam "Launch Options" to launch a remote world ( +connect 1.1.1:29400 +password "SuperSecretPassword" ) the password is ignored and you will have to enter it on the game.
Same happens if you launch via a Steam Favourite Server

(as mentioned in the initial report) This also happens from the Server dialog if you've added the server there.

You click Connect, it prompts for password, takes you to character select in game, then after selecting character it asks for your password again.

Also happens when joining a game from steam friend list, or from steam server list.

+join via URL is not working at all, seems steam is handing over the IP differently to the game when using the url instead serverbrowser/friendslist
