Make game installable on M1 Mac
Steam install button is greyed out on my M1 Mac. Should run fine via Rosetta?

zaneMac version please?
Just it runs poorly under Parallels, do only have a AMD Radeon Pro 5500M, but very weird flickering / pop-in. Noted by others here too: https://www.reddit.com/r/valheim/comments/lfhvvi/valheim_running_on_a_macbook_pro_m1_by/ -

MotoFckr9kPersonally I see a good amount of reasons why the devs might not want to support Mac.
One is that the only graphics API that is supported on Mac (Metal) doesn't support geometry shader. Not sure if they use those, but this does seem like a game that might utilize them.
Then there is the fact that Mac currently has two architectures, x86_64 and arm64. So in theory they would need two new versions, not just one.
Looking back at how well Apple has been supporting OpenGL in the past, I would personally not think that they will be supporting Metal very well..
Since they use Unity I would think that it is possible, but seeing how they are already dealing with pretty bad issues with the server software and performance on some machines, it seems unlikely that they would open up to a platform like MacOS. -

NoFaceIf they update the Unity engine to 2020.2 or higher then it can run as a native binary on M1 as support is added in. Best of all the 2020 version of Unity goes LTS in a few weeks.

MindOfAnAlphaIf you look at the FAQ a native Mac version will only be looked into if there is enough demand.

Zax LoffulI would also like to be able to play on my M1. The new M1 chip is so much better than the old Intel stuff.

Johnny BroncoThis. GeForce isn't cutting it and the port is needed. I'll gladly beta test it for you.

Valheim_M1Please do not just make this game “installable” on the m1 chip computers but create native support so we do not need to use Rosetta 2.

Michel M.Full Apple Silicon support will be a quite future-proof and profitable move, as newer and next Macs will be getting only Apple M1-alike and newer, with better GPU, etc. and you will be ready to support them natively, with great graphics and superior performance.
