Deep North "Blizzard" causes huge FPS drop.

When the very dark blizzard happened while in the Deep North region, the frames fell below 10 FPS (playing on someone else's server as well). I thought maybe it was a fluke and continued sailing, cleared up after the blizzard was over.

Before I got out of the area, a second blizzard occured and created the exact same FPS drop.

I experience this as well in Mountain regions.

I think it has to do with the snow being affected by light sources. Shooting fire arrows and/or adding additional light sources seems to make the problem worse.
