Color Blind Support
I've been playing Valheim with my friends a lot since steam release, but one of them is really struggling. He is Blue-Green color blind, and rocks, troll hides, blueberries, and most other blue things are invisible against the grass to him. He would greatly appreciate some kind of colorblind support

BengtI have a similar problem with red-green combos (so the blueberries I can see perfectly fine) so the red berries in a green bush and other red items in grass or similar I can't see unless I stumble on them by accident and get the "E" action item.
My friends asked me why I was not picking up those berries and during a streaming session they realised why...
They could see them from a long distance on the bushes but they needed to guide me to the correct bushes... -

JasonHe can’t see the sparkly stars that rise from all pick up able items? It should still be implemented tho

JoshI suffer Red/Green Color Blindness and I have hard time seeing the forest mushrooms unless I am right on top of them. Cannot agree more.

MaxI am red-green colorblind and I also would like a color blind mode. Currently raspberries are almost indistinguishable from the bushes they are in. If possible, I would prefer something that was not just a filter applied across the board to hue shift everything.

AlexI am also Blue Green Color blind and games rarely have accessibility options for tritanopia. I can only find items by their sparkle effect in grass and often just lose items entirely. I have to call some one over to help me find it, which they can do pretty quickly.
You don't have to mess with the colors really because fixing it for one group seems to screw with another. Just have a light beam extend up for about a meter. There is a mod for Monster Hunter World that is a good example of this: https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/2531/images/112/112-1579259504-344088346.png -

suit1337while this is a good feature, for example people with red-green-weaknesses.
in the meantime there is always the option to do this via your graphics driver, nvidia and amd both have such options to shift color balances -

MattRed/Green colorblind player here. And yes can attest to the difficulty of finding mushrooms, raspberries, knowing if a building piece has support, etc.

DerekHey guys, I'm colorblind as well and I play with my GF next to me so I have a good idea of what is a color issue and what isn't. It helps A LOT to turn the graphic setting "Vegetation Quality" all the way down to low. The mushrooms are hard to see for everyone when vegetation is high, but they stand out by shape with it set to low. The raspberries you can identify by the big bulbs on bushes. Those are hard for everyone to see in the dark. With vegetation high you can't see the shape as well and you have to rely on color, but with the setting to low the shape isn't obstructed by grass.
Maybe another request should be for the vegetation to not hide the resources, make the bushes and mushrooms bigger, for example.
I don't want to say that the dark reds shouldn't be less dark, they should, but this seems fine for me for now. -

Clay MitchellI support this as well - I'm red/green color blind, and I can't see raspberries unless I'm right in front of them.
Seeing the red mushrooms is downright impossible unless i'm standing on top of them and I happen to look down. -

KittyNot color blind here, but I support this request. I can imagine it's hard to see red berries in a green bush (or the red/brownish mushrooms against the grass). Maybe the devs are able to add sparkly stars to the fruits still hanging on the bush? - color (maybe even the intensity) of the sparkling should be adjustable. A switch to turn the effect on/off in the options menu would be nice.

ChrisI have the same issues. I can see the blueberry's from across the map, but can't find the mushrooms or raspberry's to save my life. Would love to get some support for that at some point.

LagamemnonI am red-green challenged as well and would welcome something that makes the interactable items more visible at the same distance as non-vision-impaired folks can distinguish them.

BloodwolfIm not color blind but I am upvoting this cause I think everyone should be able to play the game comfortably and see everything. While I can see how some people might not consider this a high-priority feature, I believe if you accomodate/help more gamers, then more gamers will play your game, which makes everyone wins.
Not sure how to balance colors in this game for colorblindess, tho. Cause there are many types. So best case they allow players to shift colors as needed, worst case scenario they cover the most common ones and help a majority of players. -

RudyI, too, and red-green colorblind. Mushrooms are darn near impossible for me to see. They just look like stone or branches... Rather, I keep mistaking stones and branches for mushrooms. I will say that the raspberries are hard to see, as well, but the way I can tell them apart is by the glare reflecting off of them, usually at night, and the shade of the bushes is somewhat more vibrant than non-berry bushes... I don't think that will be terribly helpful to most people, though.

WebsterRed Green here. Before I found a colorblind mod on the Nexus I had no idea there were so many mushrooms. I'd walk right past them. The mod makes Raspberries and Mushrooms bright purple and now I'm rolling in mushrooms. Something like that is needed for the base game.

Turk of WightThere seems to be an ideal opportunity here to not only help us colour blind experiencers but add a little more Viking themed spice in regards to the Viking berserkers of lore.
Exchanging the current forest mushroom texture with a FLY AGARIC mushroom ie the traditional Red with White spots seems a win win for all, colour blind and traditional sighted alike.
Not only white dots on the mushrooms but white GLOWING dots would enable all to see them regardless of time or day.
this fly agaric addition could also open up, in future game expansion updates, a possible mushroom berserker buff... (say combined with those PILES of greydwarf eyes - giving the player the power to "see" enemies and boost their strength in battle.
Same glow could be applied to raspberries & blueberries - with an on/off option for those who dont require or like the addition.
But for now, the glowing white spots would be so, so welcomed. -

RobSo if say conservatively 5% of the population is colorblind (like I am) and there are around 6 million Vikings in Valheim currently, then that means 300,000 Vikings in Valheim are colorblind.

Zaf9670While you can set the OS/GPU to have some color adaptations, it usually is most effective if the game tries to prioritize the colors for the user. An accessibility tab option for colorblind as well as any other audio enhancement features for those hearing impaired would be nice as well.
Listing all the types of color blindness below from Wiki. Windows and Mac for instance have Red weak, Green weak, and Blue-yellow as the main options for choice.
Protanomaly - Red-Green
Protanomaly - Red-Green
Deuteranomaly - Red-Green
Deuteranopia - Red-Green
Tritanomaly - Blue-yellow
Tritanopia - Blue-yellow
Achromatopsia - Total colorblind -

votan73Not as good as a built-in support could be, but Windows 10 has a color-blind color correction.
A friend of mine tested it. It affects the monitor output, eg. a Discord stream looks normal. -

NickFriend I play with has a really hard time seeing the Rhaspberry bushes due to some mild color blindness as well.

LagamemnonThe tags on the food (Red, White, Yellow forks) could be improved as well for color blind people. For example keep the red fork, but turn the white fork to a white knife, and turn the yellow fork to a yellow spoon.
