I suggest adding dedicated gear slots (armor, weapon, shield, ammo) and various backpacks.
As the title say, I suggest mainly for dedicated gear slots.
But also I think various "backpacks" would be a nice addition.
For example the basic backpack that add more slots to the inventory. Maybe another that adds less slots but more weight (carry capacity), an arrow quiver, a pouch for food and healing items, etc.
I also want to use this chance to thank you for such a good and fun game! Keep the nice work!

Ryak MergedAs the title says, like in any other games, separate location for armor, weapon etc would be nice, so it won't be in the actual inventory taking up space.

Amir MehmoodThis is also my suggestion, i wan to add that there should be two sets of weapon slots which you should be able to swap with "y" button.

miniLYes would add some progression to backpack area as well, and make it less of a hassle to farm certain materials later on (after farming for the backpack first haha)! You have my vote!

Jason MergedYes I make a thread the same as this but this needs the most attention

Oskar MergedCould maybe be combined with ONLY these items being allowed to transfer between worlds...

Szakál Sándor Mergedit would be great that what you put on clothes would not take up space

wolfie Mergedmaybe cosmetic slots as well, to have the unique looks matching pieces

Adam MergedDefinitely keep the increase in weight / speen penalties as you improve your armor but currently a full inventory leaves too few spaces imo (helm, chest, pants, cape, weapon/tools, arrows, swamp key, whish bone, 3 slots for food, and one or two meads) I can understand the choice to make people selective with what to throw down but a bit more space would be lovely
. Perhaps a different angle would be a craftable/upgradable backpack. Could have multiple specialized types, or have it removable to aid in combat movement ect. -

Deatrick Merged.armor slots.

Xeviar MergedWith so few slots to hold items, having slots for equipped items would be great!

Noel MergedAgreed, would be a nice change.

Tim MergedAgreed, it clutters otherwise

brian s Merged+1. It would also be fantastic if the weight of armor wasn't included in your carrying capacity, but that's probably pushing my luck.

saxon Mergedyes this would be great to have a toon equip window.

David S MergedI wouldn't mind seeing this just for armor and a single gear slot (megingjord, wishbone, etc). I don't mind having weapons on the hot bar as I switch between a few depending on what enemy I'm facing.

Tom Mergedinventory system is already good and doesnt need a buff, people need to learn to manage inventory
-

Jacob MergedMaybe there can be way to improve this by adding craftable bags or something. So in trade of 1 space u get 4 more or something like this. I really like the inventory system right now (yes it needs some tweaks) but for now it is really nice in early access.

GrahamYeah having a "character" sheet with worn armour would be nice. The weight mechanic should stay as it is adds a cost / benefit that is good. Some sort of bag expansion would be an option, and maybe some food buffs that give you more carrying power

brodin MergedI disagree. This is simply adding more inventory slots, a problem the game already provides novel and interesting solutions to. As it stands, you can wear less armour to go gathering, which makes sense.

RobYes please! Its kinda messy to work around with the inventory carrying all your food, gear, arrows and potions. Chest armor, pants, helmet, mantle, two different arrows, three foods and one potion will ocuppy 10 slots on inventory. If at least we have a slot for the armors it will be nice.

navane MergedI like the simplicity of how it is now. Inventory is abstracted away anyway. What would be next, inventory spots expand by wearing more clothes? Please keep it simple.

BillyYeah, dedicated gear slots just make sense. Your gear is on your body, not in your backpack. Leave the weight limits though

Kristensen MergedRagdoll places for armor parts would be nice, still let weapons/tools/accesories take space, to balance out what you take with you.
Also keep the armor parts weight count towards to total weight. -

George MergedIt’s not an inventory size thing. It’s an organizational thing. Make 4 equipable slots for armor/pants/helms/cloak and remove 4 slots from the general inventory for all I care.
Others also mentioned craftable backpack. Like add 100lb capacity but -20% move speed or something. Or maybe move speed penalty scales with how full it is? Anyway, a Good idea but entirely separate from this consideration. The goal is an *organized* inventory, not a larger one. -

JimmyI complained a lot about many things in the game at first even making threads about it, such as why workbench/etc need roof, why pickaxe locked behind a boss, why this why that, as I played further now all make sense to me, but TWO THINGS I still can NOT accept.
1. Inventory, it is too limiting to the point it is tedious that I have to visit my storage every damn time in a very short time coz foreign stuffs keep entering my inventory as I do stuffs/walk from point a to point b to z.
2. an impossible scenario when char dies, like my bag was around a goblin/deathsquito early because it looked like meadows. I prefer to del my savegame and copy from backup, but that is a solution from outside of the game. Dying shldnt be too punishing, dying shld even be part of the game not punished severely because of it, equipments+1-8shortcuts shld stay in inv/option for that in customized server setting which is another suggestion this game direly needs. -

JimmyOr maybe make it as progression, since the game has plan for minibosses. Maybe add these items from minibosses?
-Quivers , can hold 100, 200, 300, or more
- Consumables pouch can hold food or potions.
Aside from that, equipped gears such as armor legging helm, it doesnt make sense to take inventory space when equipped, it's being worn by the body, NOT CARRIED, in COnan Exiles its cleverly implemented, armor has different weight when carried in inventory, but weight will be halfed WHEN EQUIPPED. So a paperdoll shld be implemented for dedicated gear slots.
Maybe also add different kinds of slot expansion by different kind of methods, like the game has cart, add baskets on yoke but can only melee one handed when using it, and basket backpack for farming stuffs, all these will cost movement speed.
Or think of something , we dont need much space, but any form of expansion slots is needed asap. -

Chris MergedI think its a aspect of the Game. However you might consider adding something like a Quiver. If it proviedes a little more room for arrows ... fine .. but the mainthing about it would be, that you can put in the arrowtipe you want to use. I had times when i used up a stack of arrows the game was choosing a "special arrow" next instead of a "normal" one.

LucidI completely disagree with weapon slots (1-8 for all weapons, shields, and tools is great) and I hate the idea of backpacks. Maybe better Megingjord’s as you progress or something, but I truly think that the current system is ALMOST perfect. YET, I do feel that ARMOR and UTILITY items that are equipped should have their own separate slots... Simply, a separate panel for Head, Body, Legs, Back, and Utility. Just those 5 would be good enough. At least then you still have to manage inventory but wouldn’t have something you are wearing on your body in your inventory. Same *could* be said for weapons but I think that having an action bar for 8 different items works fine. But please, please, please Irongate, add more Keybinding options!!!! <3 love your game. Also love my fingers. 8 is a reach XD
