Bug? Skill Loss
Whenever my character dies, at least some of his skills are lowered in numerical value: I'm not sure about others, but his sneak skill has been lowered from 25 to 24 to 23 with the last few deaths. Is this intentional, or is this a bug? No one else with whom I've played has reported this skill loss on death; they've seen losses only on progression toward the next numerical level.

MikiYou're supposed to lose skill levels on death. If you die, you should notice a buff that says "No Skill Loss" or something like that, you get that buff for a little while after you die.

NicholasI have also had my skills lowered upon death. I'm not sure if it is supposed to happen or not.

Ralathar44The skill loss is an intended punishment of the game, you lose 5% of every skill every time you die. There is a buff that protects you from further skill loss for 10 minutes after every death. That being said even though the system is intended it seems to be balanced too high since exp never increases and the amount needed to level skills increases exponentially. So dying at higher skill levels makes you lose more levels and it takes longer to earn back the same amount of levels. So it's very easy to get stuck in a loop where you die a few times, spend days earning back the levels you lost, and then die again....never progressing.
