Allow DNS name when connecting over IP
Would be great to accept valid DNS name when connecting to a server. Will help communities to organize their servers around their community domain

BobThis is a low hanging fruit.

CodeI too would really appreciate this! Really helps those of us that constantly have our ISPs changing our IPs.

SamThis would be a good privacy and logistics consideration as well. Privacy to not share public IP addresses and logistics for (not so tech-savvy) users being able to remember how to connect to a server.

SuperMeadBoyYes this please, I am hosting a dedicated server for friends but it doesn't show for some of them in the server browser list, and I don't have a static IP available to use the numeric-only Direct Join, but do have access to a dynamic DNS address.

Trenjeskahelheim yes!
I know this is Early Access and the connect IP box just a quick UI hack, but as a QoL improvement it would be really appreciated.
That reminds me... does it accept IPV6.... time to test! -

TBoneyes, please do this, especially with the connect to ip thing not remembering the last ip that you connected to. Not easy for people who want to play but suck at computers to do.

oogleThis would be great! Much easier for people to remember a DNS name instead of an IP address.

PhillipOh wow I just posted asking for this then saw your suggestion. I don't think it would be too hard if they're using C# or similar just pass the current input through a method like this and spit out a response if it's unresolvable.

OranYes! And assume default port. i.e. only require port entry if it's non-default
