Fishing not possible for joined players

In Multiplayer Sessions, it occurs that Players who aren't the Host of the playsession aren't able to fish properly. You are able to use the fishing rod with bait, but the fish will never bite at the bait or rod. Tried that for around 20 minutes. And also a lot of other users (saw that on reddit) experienced this issue too.

Hi! I had the same problem yesterday, me and my friend were out fishing for like 30 minutes and for like 20 minutes only he could get fish to bite. After we drove to another place I was the first one to throw the fishing pole and then only I was able to catch fish.

I experienced the same issue, I came to a friends house and started fishing, none of the fish would bite. I had him leave the area, as soon as he did, I could see all the fish shift positions momentarily, then they started biting. Seems only the controller of an area can fish.

Similar thing happened to me yesterday on dedicated server, usually I can fish without any problems, but yesterday when I was close to my friend and we both were fishing, fish just ignored my bait and only bite my friends bait

Note, Same thing on dedicated servers. However it doesnt matter who is host, seems to be just whoever started fishing in the area.

I experienced this bug, but I thought I was just doing something wrong as it was my first time fishing. My brother was hosting, and he was pulling in fish after fish and I never got a bite. I fished for at least 15 minutes.

yes, the fishes just ignore the bait, i fixed by log off and on again

I had this happen to me while hosting a dedicated server, I connected from the same machine that is hosting(127.0.0.1), and another client was the only one able to fish. I was able to swim out to where the fish were and just pick them up straight out of the water though.

Yea this is an issue .. i however found that if i leave the area of the player (portal to another place) i can fish like normal again.
So its based on the distance to the player (unknown, havent tested) and not about being in the same game.
