Keep crashing at startup: error mono-2.0-bdwgc.dll, I have tried everything to get the game to work

I have tried everything to get the game to work but cannot. I clicked play and it got this error mono-2.0-bdwgc.dll and crashed. Cannot even get to the login screen. Error: mono-2.0-bdwgc.dll crash. Please help, I have had 420 hours of playtime in the past and did not uninstall the game just update it in steam as you push updates but I want to play again and I have this issue now.

Hi Eric.

I assume you got it solved on Discord?
Deleting the valheim folder in steam common files solved the issue for you?

These issues are common when you have had a mod (like BepInEx) and then remove it
Since the mod-loader overwrites some files for valheim, when you remove it the file that was modded, is not gone.

I am also getting both this and a UnityPlayer.dll crash. I have uninstalled all mods after the H&H update, created a new world to access the new features in the update, did a fresh reinstall of Valheim (to include completely deleting the Valheim folder from steamapps/common and letting Steam rebuild the folder.) The only things imported were the character and worlds folders located in %appdata%/LocalLow/IronGate/Valheim, as I did not want to lose my character progression and an old world to import materials from
