(xbox) the xbox versoin of the game resets the world

hi ive been playing on xbox since it came out and have encountered something very annoying. last night i finished build in, saved my game and hit logout. the logout screen froze on the option to logout then screen went black no loading indicator and i was back on the main menu. now I've tried to load up the world and all the chests bases, and progress have been reset on the world. now i did as suggested and reloaded a backup of a cloud save as seen in the manage saves option of the world. restart the game and the save data is gone
all i get now is that i can select my character and it auto prompts me to make a new world and there is no other save data.
