Game crash when auto save every morning XBOX

Whenever it auto saves in the morning, it seems to struggle to save, and as soon as it’s done saving it crashes the game. I know it saves properly as I spawn in the same morning right as it crashed. Uninstalled and re installed twice as well as loading previous saves but it does not seem to work. Cloud storage is not anywhere near full.

Hello Ben.

We know about the Xbox crashing on autosave every 30 minutes and working to solve it ASAP.
Another issues is that when the crashing starts to happen, if you where able to continue to play, those saves would fails eventually due to the previous issue still being a problem so it's either crashing, or risking the world to go corrupted.

Thank you for sharing Ben and for the response Smiffe, I count myself lucky that I only experienced a crash during the world save, I did however lose all items that were on my character as if I had died. I'm looking forward to playing again once the issue is resolved. (Xbox Series x, Day 109 World)

I have the same issue, it may just be a coincidence but it all started after yesterdays' update. The autosave is actually saving my world but always ends up dashboarding me. Hope you guys can fix this ASAP as it has become very frustrating.

Hello Smiffe,

I have the problem since today. I’m still able to play but the game crashes with every „Auto-Save“
Is this map „doomed“ nor or do I just have to wait until it gets fixed.

Hopefully this might help into figuring out whats going on

Server has been started by someone on the Xbox one, the rest of player are on Xbox Series X

We've been experiencing the same issues here recently since the new patch for Xbox dropped. More frequently now then before the patch.

The game will try to world save every 30 minutes. The world save will trigger but not complete properly causing the hosts game to crash. The world will then obviously reset to 30 minutes prior but the players inventory will be properly recorded after the crash. After the server is started back up, all players will respawn at the last bed they have slept in. The strange part is the server host will be at the Xbox home while the game crash has happened but the players in the server can continue playing until the server fully disconnects the player. We have found that if players save and then logout before being kick they will wake up at that spot on next server start up.

As of today, no issues for saving. Auto saves every morning/ while sleeping seem to be working fine. Had a save file corrupt 2 days ago due to trying to manual save. The saving flashing logo on the top left of my screen never went away and, once morning came, it auto saved while it was still trying to manual save and corrupted the file. Only lost 1 days worth of progress thankfully because of previous saves. Thanks a lot of replying!

In conjunction with my last post, we have tried to stop the crashing from world saves by dropping a hard manual save before then. We are still experiencing the same crashing issues. It does not happen every single time, we dropped two manual save and they both worked with no crashes. It doesn't seem to be tied to manual or world save in why its crashing, seems to be just crashing from saving in general.

Follow up question if I may. From what I understand, reading your reply - game crashing is a failsafe not to cause entire world to reset.. am I right?

Im asking, coz the game crashed on me the other day - first time ever (Xbox series X) - and after the crash I did not try to log back on.
Im waiting for a proper fix, not really knowing if my world is still there when I come back.
But from what you wrote - it crashed to save me from Save Corruption.
But since its started crashing already - does it mean I reached the limit and I have to put the game aside for the moment, till the proper fix comes?

I have the same issue however its also taking already collected materials too. For example collected copper.

Yes had same issue. Now my game backups wont load at all..
What a drag. Was having a great time with friends and now we all have to start our base over?
Don't think I will be playing again...

I have files that are corrupt now due to this same issue. I have tried to restore backup. and no luck. I keep getting the same error that there is no room left to save my file.

This issue is making the game unplayable, on xbox 1 everytime it crashes you lose items and If you are sailing you lose the boat and eare teleported back to your last spawn point leaving you to try and sall the same journey again. It is a shame the game as so many issues as it is a great game when it is working

Hi!, same here, whenever it starts to save, the icon doesn’t desapears and few seconds after, the game crashes (xbox S series), i didn’t have the issue before this new update (June 2023), additional information i have a world with 2 friends using crossplay

Hey, i think i have the same issue. i cant join a lobby my friend opened without getting kicked after around 30 minutes on pc. playing on steam. he is in the same network here with me at home and dont has connection issues. the game closes completley every time, doesnt matter if i host or not.
